Learning Support Assistant (LSA)/ Junior Positive Behaviour (PBS) Support Tutor
Hours: 12.00-3.30 pm, Monday to Friday – Term Time Only, £15 per hour
Expected Start Date: 23rd April 2019.
The job is based in a small SEN unit, within a mainstream school in Staines. LSA/PBS Tutor should have experience and/or qualifications in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and language deficits, and be prepared to undertake the 40-hour online training as recommended by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board. You will have bi weekly supervision and opportunities for further formal training. .
The LSA/Junior tutor will be required to deliver classroom targets and assist the class teacher deliver the EYFS differentiated to the individual student within the unit. Priority will be on the student gaining the pre-learning skills to access the EYFS, and to develop play skills and social skills. In addition to this the LSA/Junior tutor will be required to deliver specific verbal targets embedded within play.
The LSA/PBS tutor will be expected to learn very basic Makaton sign language and will be fully supported to achieve this. The LSA/PBS tutor will receive bi weekly training with the BCBA and be required to learn the basis of techniques that are required for Positive Behaviour Support, as guided by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board.
LSA/PBS Tutor will be expected to deliver multidisciplinary targets and not just positive behaviour support and EYFS. Other therapies they will deliver will be Speech and Language targets, and Occupational Therapy targets. These therapies will scheduled and integrated daily into the school routine.
Full training in the delivery and data collection for these targets, will be given.
Contract: Self Employed and required to submit own tax to HMRC, payment will be paid monthly by submission of invoice to Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead
